Readmoo Unveils World’s First Foldable E-Reader
Readmoo, a company specializing in e-books and reading devices, unveiled its new product, mooInk V, at Touch Taiwan 2025, which is the world’s first color e-book with a foldable screen.
Readmoo MooInk V was presented at the Touch Taiwan exhibition — the e-book can boast an 8-inch display with a density of 300 pixels per inch, that is, its resolution is higher than that of the standard for today’s devices — 1440 × 1872 pixels. The panel is manufactured by the world’s leading specialist in electronic ink technology — E Ink. This is a Gallery 3 display, displaying 50 thousand colors. The device’s body is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy, thanks to which the weight was reduced to 225 grams. The flexible screen is designed for 200,000 folding cycles. With an average frequency of use — five reading sessions per day, which gives ten folding and unfolding actions — the estimated service life of the screen reaches 55 years. The e-book can be used by unfolding it at 180 ° or 90 °.
The exact launch date and price of mooInk V have not yet been announced. However, this is the first time that a foldable E-Ink display has reached the consumer market – and this could be an important step in the development of convenient and portable e-readers.Readmoo, a company specializing in e-books and reading devices, unveiled its new product, mooInk V, at Touch Taiwan 2025, which is the world’s first color e-book with a foldable screen.
