Zoom To Develop Email And Calendar Apps

The video conferencing service Zoom has gained extraordinary popularity in 2020, largely due to the pandemic and the situation from home. Zoom is reportedly building a new email and calendar service to compete with Google and Microsoft.

It is possible that Zoom decided to expand its ecosystem in order to stabilize the financial situation. Despite quarterly earnings of $1.1 billion, the company’s growth has slowed and its share price has fallen to pre-pandemic levels. Revenue growth in the second quarter of 2022 was the worst in recent years and amounted to 8% year on year. As a result, Zoom was forced to lower its revenue and profit forecast for fiscal year 2023.

Also, launching apps could be an attempt to compete with Google and Microsoft. One of the big downsides of Zoom is that many companies use the app in conjunction with Workspace and Office 365. These are all-inclusive packages that can meet most of a company’s needs.
