TikTok Introduces Age Restrictions On Content

The video platform raises the age requirements for live broadcasts and introduces adult-only broadcasts. Previously, anyone over the age of 16 could become a spectator of “live”.

TikTok is updating its “live streaming” system by raising the age limit from 16 to 18. Until November 23, 2022, all app users over the age of 16 with more than 1,000 followers can broadcast on TikTok.

However, after the rules will change. Only people over the age of 18 can become a live streamer and make money from it.

The platform management explains the innovation as “a desire to protect users and content creators by increasing security measures.”

Also, live broadcasts are published in the For You tab and on a separate page that other users can also view.

Now only adults will see these posts. Therefore, the platform advises content creators to target adults by broadcasting live.
