Apple has added the first-generation iPhone SE to its list of obsolete products. This list includes devices that were discontinued more than seven years ago.

According to Apple, obsolete products are those discontinued more than seven years ago. Beats Monster products are considered obsolete regardless of their purchase date. Obsolete products are not serviced by Apple service centers, and certified third-party service centers cannot order replacement parts for them. MacBook laptops may be eligible for an extended battery-only repair period of up to 10 years from the product’s last sale, subject to parts availability.

Vintage devices are those that have not been sold for more than five but less than seven years. Owners of these devices can seek repair and service from Apple or authorized service centers. However, repair eligibility is subject to parts availability.

In 2020 and 2022, Apple released the second and third generations of the iPhone SE, which featured a design similar to the iPhone 8. However, in February 2025, the company finally discontinued the SE line, replacing it with the budget-friendly iPhone 16e.
