Tesla Produces 7 Millionth Electric Car
Tesla has confirmed that it has produced its 7 millionth electric car. It is worth remembering that at the beginning of 2020, Tesla produced its millionth car after 16 years of existence. Over the next 4 years, it managed to produce another 6 million electric cars.
Speaking specifically about Tesla’s revenue in the electric vehicle segment, it grew by only 2% to $20 billion, and has not increased much since the end of 2022. This did not prevent the company from increasing its production volumes of electric vehicles by 9% to a record 469,796 units. Moreover, Elon Musk expressed confidence at the reporting conference that by the end of the current year, the company will be able to slightly exceed last year’s volumes of electric vehicle deliveries (1.8 million units). To do this, Tesla will have to ship more than 506,000 electric vehicles by the end of the fourth quarter. Musk also expects that next year, the production volumes of this brand of cars will increase by 20 or 30% and will approach the coveted milestone of 3 million cars produced per year, due to the transition to a cheaper-to-produce “intermediate platform”.
So far, no other company in the world has produced 7 million all-electric cars.
