Sony unveiled its flagship WF-1000XM6 TWS wireless earbuds. They replace the WF-1000XM5, which was released almost three years ago, in July 2023. Sony is confident that the WF-1000XM6 are the company’s best earbuds to date.
The earbuds have changed more than just their appearance. Inside, they now feature an updated version of the V2 audio processor, which supports 32-bit audio processing. Sony says this means the new headphones will offer improved clarity, dynamic range, and detail.

The speakers are powered by 8.4mm drivers. They support AAC, SBC, LC3, and LDAC audio codecs, as well as Sony’s DSEE Extreme technology, which uses an AI algorithm to enhance the quality of compressed audio files. Bluetooth 5.3 (LE), Auracast, Fast Pair, and Swift Pair are available for pairing.

The WF-1000XM6 have a battery life of 8 hours, the same as the XM5 generation. The charging case provides two full charges, giving a total of 24 hours of playback. The WF-1000XM6 support wireless charging and are IPX4 water and dust resistant.
The Sony WF-1000XM6 will be available in silver and black for €300 or $330.
