Ridley Scott’s Company Began Work On The Film Adaptation Of The Game Gravity Rush

Sony is expanding the list of games based on which film adaptations will be released.  Another such project became known – work is underway on a film based on Gravity Rush together with the production team of Ridley Scott.

The director of the film version of Gravity Rush will be Anna Mastro, who previously worked on Shameless and filmed the fantasy Secret Society of Minor Monarchs. Emily Jerome will write the script. Not much is known about her previous experience, but Deadline calls her a promising screenwriter.  One of her projects was included in the “Black List” of 2017 – a list of the most interesting, but not yet implemented scenarios. Shortly after the list was published, the Panopticon thriller went into development. So Jerome, in addition to the adaptation of Gravity Rush, has another big-budget project in the works.

But back to Gravity Rush.  Nothing more is known about the upcoming film: the names of the producers are not named, it is not clear when the shooting will begin, let alone the rental, it is not clear who will play the main roles.

But you can roughly predict the plot of the picture. At the center of the original game was Kat, a girl suffering from amnesia and at the same time able to control gravity. She uses her superpowers to protect the citizens of the city of Hexeville from gravity storms and monsters known as Nevi. Throughout the game, Kat explores the open world of Hexeville, completes missions for the benefit of the townspeople, fights monsters, and remembers a few things about herself along the way.
