Players Criticized Valve For Optimization In Counter-Strike 2

Not all users were delighted with the release of Counter-Strike 2 into open beta testing. Many criticized Valve for optimizing the shooter.

Players have already begun to lower the rating of Counter-Strike 2 on Steam, demanding that the developers return the usual CS:GO. They don’t like that the authors left them without a choice and literally forced them to play only CS2.

Others began to resent the fact that CS2 is more demanding and requires a more powerful PC, which causes technical problems. Gamers complained about lags, FPS drops and other errors.

Counter-Strike 2 is a version of CS:GO on the Source 2 engine. All users at the release were automatically given access to CS2, but the original game was taken away – it is now not on Steam at all.

All items from CS:GO have been transferred to the new version, but some modes (for example “Arms Race”) are missing. All earned achievements are also gone.  In CS2 there is only one trophy so far, and it’s nominal.

The greatest irritation among CS:GO fans, in addition to the inability to now play their favorite game, is the performance of Counter-Strike 2, which has noticeably dropped compared to the original version.

Players are demanding that Valve return CS:GO or at least optimize Counter-Strike 2; they complain about the frame rate dropping from 150-200 to 30-50. “Thank you for killing the game,” writes a user with more than 2 thousand hours in CS:GO.
