OPPO A78: A Thin Long-Lived Smartphone
In the BBK Electronics group of companies, the OPPO brand specializes in expensive and fashion devices. But the “A” line of smartphones is being promoted as the most affordable of all products. So OPPO A78 gets into a very interesting position – it’s a budget gadget from a premium manufacturer.
OPPO A78, as is often the case with the company’s devices, is curious with a combination of features: a fairly ordinary and not too fresh platform (Qualcomm Snapdragon 680), a camera with only one “working” module (the second is a depth sensor), but at the same time – an AMOLED display (up to 90Hz), an in-display fingerprint scanner, very fast charging (67W), and a thin, relatively compact and light body.
The front panel cannot please with particularly thin frames – they are relatively small on the top and sides, but the chin, alas, is outstanding. As a result, the screen occupies 85.2% of the panel’s surface – technically it seems to be quite a lot, given that the panel is flat, without curved edges, but the large frame at the bottom slightly spoils the picture. Of the not quite usual, I note that the front camera is located in the corner of the screen, and not in the center, as usual.
The smartphone turned out to be very light and thin. The thickness of the OPPO A78 case is 7.9 mm, weight is 180 grams. With a screen diagonal of 6.43 inches, I still couldn’t manage the gadget with one hand, but at least it fits in my pockets easily.
