OpenAI Releases GPT-4 Language Model
In March 2023, OpenAI showed the latest version of its advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology, GPT-4, but did not make it available.
But from this day on, all developers who have paid access to the API will receive GPT-4. Now developers will be able to use the most advanced GPT-4 API, and with 8K context.
OpenAI introduced GPT-4 in March as the successor to GPT-3, the AI model that brought the company to industry-wide attention three years earlier. GPT-4 interprets user instructions more efficiently, can accept images as input, and has advanced task processing capabilities. Recent enhancements make it easier for the model to fulfill complex user queries, such as solving mathematical problems.
Along with the GPT-4 API, access to the programming interface of three other models was opened. The first of these is the GPT-3.5 Turbo, the predecessor of the GPT-4, which offers more limited features at a significantly lower cost. OpenAI has also opened up APIs for its DALL-E and Whisper models. The last two neural networks are optimized for image generation and speech transcription, respectively.
In connection with this event, OpenAI also announced plans to discontinue a number of early language models available through the API. They will be disabled on January 4, 2024.
