OpenAI Launches AgentKit – A Tool For Creating AI Agents In Minutes

OpenAI has unveiled a new toolkit called AgentKit, designed to simplify and accelerate the process of creating and deploying complex AI agents. This step could fundamentally change the approach to developing enterprise autonomous systems, making them more accessible to a wider range of companies and developers.

The toolkit includes several important modules, according to the OpenAI blog. The first is Agent Builder, which Altman described as “Canva for creating agents.” It provides a quick, visual way to design logic, steps, and ideas and is built on the Responses API, which is already used by many developers today.

The second module is called ChatKit. It provides a simple, embeddable chat interface that developers can integrate into their own apps. It can also be embedded on websites and customized to match a product’s theme or company brand.

The third module, called Evals for Agents, measures the performance of an AI agent and evaluates both its overall behavior and individual components against multiple analysis datasets.

This release will literally kill dozens of startups and possibly steal thousands of customers from n8n, as AgentKit essentially duplicates its functionality. While companies currently purchase very expensive subscriptions to n8n, Make, Zapier, and others, automation is now part of the ChatGPT feature set they were already accessing through all of these services.
