New Google Pixel 8 AI Features Can Change People’s Faces, Remove Blur, And Move Objects
Google unveiled new AI-powered Magic Editor and Best Take features to enhance the photo editing experience on the new Pixel 8 series smartphones.
With Magic Editor, users can move objects in a photo, change their size, remove unnecessary elements, or, for example, replace a cloudy sky with a sunny one. The function also allows you to change the backgrounds of your photos using several pre-prepared presets. Magic Editor will independently suggest contextual changes to the photo, taking into account the lighting and background in which the pictures were taken. The function will prepare several options for edited photos, prompting you to select the one you need. Magic Editor was first announced at Google I/O in May.
The Best Take function, in turn, combines many group photos, allowing you to create the best shot in which people do not blink or look at the camera. The function allows you to replace the faces of people in a photo with their own faces from other, more successful photographs.
Best Take can work in both automatic and manual mode. In the second case, you are allowed to independently select the desired emotions on the faces of certain people in the photo, and then combine all the results in the final photo.
Both Best Take and Magic Editor features will be available on Pixel 8 series smartphones starting October 12. It is likely that these features will appear on other Android smartphones in the future.
