Musk Announces Tesla Self-Driving Vehicle Tests in Texas Cities

Tesla has been testing fully driverless Model Y cars on the streets of Austin for several days, Elon Musk reported on social media X, noting: “Tesla has been testing fully driverless Model Y cars in real-world urban conditions in Austin for the past several days. All is going well. One month ahead of schedule. First factory-delivered direct to customer next month.

Elon Musk, in his latest comments regarding the launch dates of the driverless taxi service in Texas, added that no safety incidents were identified during the testing phase. Earlier, he emphasized that 10 to 20 driverless taxis based on slightly modernized Model Y crossovers will move around strictly defined areas of Austin under the constant supervision of remote operators. If a situation arises that requires human intervention, the operator will immediately take control of the taxi.

Musk plans to focus again on managing his companies Tesla, SpaceX and X. This is due to his departure from the administration of former US President Donald Trump, where the entrepreneur was responsible for improving the efficiency of the Department of Digitalization and Optimization of Government Administration (DOGE).
