iPhone Air Unveiled: The Thinnest iPhone Ever

The iPhone Air is just 5.6 mm thick, making it the thinnest iPhone ever. The frame is made of titanium with a polished finish. The device is equipped with a Ceramic Shield 2 protective coating on both sides for the first time, which is three times more scratch-resistant. Apple says it is the most durable iPhone ever. The new camera platform takes up the entire back of the device.
The smartphone features a 6.5-inch OLED display with ProMotion technology and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits — the highest of any iPhone. The front glass also has a seven-layer anti-reflective coating that reduces glare and distractions for better readability in bright conditions.
There is only one rear camera, but Apple tried to squeeze the most out of it. The company claims that the new 48-megapixel module provides the equivalent of four lenses – with an equivalent focal length of 26, 28, 35 and 52 mm (2x zoom). A Quad-Bayer sensor with 1-micron pixels and high-aperture optics with an f/1.6 aperture are used. Video recording in 4K60 Dolby Vision format and Action mode are supported.

An “adaptive mode” is declared, allowing the smartphone to work throughout the day. An accessory is also presented: an ultra-thin magnetic battery MagSafe, created specifically for the iPhone Air.
The iPhone Air is powered by the “most power-efficient” chip Apple has ever made, the A19 Pro. It features a six-core CPU, an updated five-core GPU, and an improved AI engine.

The iPhone Air will go on sale simultaneously with other new products on September 19. The cost of the basic version with 256 GB of memory will be $999.
