iPhone 17 Air Doesn’t Fit a Normal Battery
Apple is preparing to release the iPhone 17 Air. The new gadget has already been announced as the thinnest iPhone in the company’s history – its thickness should be only 5.5 millimeters. But this record may be overshadowed by a significant inconvenience – such a super-thin model does not fit a full-fledged battery.
During internal tests, it was found that only 60-70% of users will be able to use the iPhone 17 Air throughout the day without recharging. For comparison, this figure is 80-90% for other iPhone models. The decrease in operating time is due to the record-breaking thin design of the device, the thickness of which is only 5.5 mm. To solve the problem of battery life, Apple is supposedly planning to release a special charging case for the iPhone 17 Air as an additional accessory. It will not only protect the smartphone, but also significantly extend its operating time. Interestingly, the last time Apple released such cases was for the iPhone 11, and then introduced the MagSafe Battery Pack for the iPhone 12 and newer models (later the accessory was removed from sale).
Apple suppliers are unsure about demand for the iPhone 17 Air due to its new form factor, and are planning to allocate only about 10% of their production capacity to the model within the iPhone 17 lineup.
