IKEA Announced a New Interior Design Service

IKEA is launching an interior design service to provide professional, personalized interior design assistance to anyone who wants to create a more beautiful and functional home.

This is online service. Customers begin the process by visiting the Ikea’s Ideas website and making an appointment. After you enter your zip code, what service you are looking for, and select a date and time, IKEA will put you in touch with a professional designer in your area. The design process begins with the client filling out a questionnaire describing the space they want, what they are looking for, leading to three one-on-one virtual sessions between client and designer. During these video calls, the designer helps the client develop a mood board, floor plan, facades, 3D visualization, lighting plan, and carefully curated product list, as well as offering home improvement tips and material suggestions.

Once this is all done, your Ikea designer will provide the final documentation of your design plans and install any products you need to order for you, coordinating shipping and even scheduling assembly via TaskRabbit if you so choose.

Consumer interior design services start at $99, while business interior design services start at $299 per room.
