Honor Magic 8 Pro Air Unveiled – A Slim Flagship with iPhone Air Design

Honor has officially unveiled its slim and compact flagship smartphone, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air. At 6.1 mm thick, it’s thinner than the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, but only by a few millimeters. The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air is equipped with a 5500 mAh silicon-carbon battery—larger than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It offers 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Magic8 Pro Air features a 6.31-inch OLED display with narrow bezels (1.08 mm on all sides), a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels, a refresh rate of 1–120 Hz, a peak brightness of 6000 cd/m² in HDR mode, the Honor Oasis eye protection system, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The display is protected by Giant Rhino Glass.
The device is powered by the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor (one C1-Ultra core with a frequency of up to 4.21 GHz, three C1-Premium cores with a frequency of up to 3.5 GHz, and four C1-Pro cores with a frequency of up to 2.7 GHz; Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 graphics).
The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air features a triple-camera setup: two (the main and ultra-wide-angle) use 50-megapixel sensors, while the third, a periscope sensor with 3.2x zoom, uses a 64-megapixel sensor. It’s important to note that the main sensor is large—1/1.3-inch optical format (like the Honor Magic 8 Pro). The front-facing camera is 50-megapixel.
The smartphones are painted using the same seven-layer, seven-step photosensitive coating process used in luxury cars, resulting in a metallic satin finish. The phone is available in four colors: Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White, and Shadow Black. The manufacturer claims the device’s body is crafted from solid aerospace-grade aluminum with a strength of 530 MPa. The smartphone has an IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance rating and supports eSIM with seamless switching between SIM cards and eSIM.
The Magic8 Pro Air is equipped with a 5500 mAh silicon-carbon battery (2351 mAh larger than the iPhone Air). The battery supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
