Publisher Kwalee and studio Clover Bite have announced the release date of the Metroidvania GRIME II: March 31st. The game will be available on PC via Steam with a Russian translation.
Grime 2 was unveiled at Gamescom 2023 and was slated for a 2025 release. However, instead of a full November release, fans were treated to a public demo (still available).
Grime 2 was announced to be available on March 31, 2026, exclusively on the Steam digital distribution service. The announcement was accompanied by dynamic gameplay footage.
The Grime 2 demo has received “very positive” reviews on Steam (95% rating), and now it’s poised to earn even more positive reviews: with the announcement of the full game’s release date, the trial edition has received a major update.
The demo has been updated with a new location, enemy types, and NPC interactions, improved graphics, a reworked trait system (passive bonuses), difficulty settings, and “much, much, much, much… much more.”
Grime II promises to combine classic Metroidvania with intense Soulslike mechanics, placing an emphasis on exploring the world and adapting to enemies with unique skills.
