Google Releases Gemini 2.5 Pro Beta to All Users
Google has announced that it is rolling out an experimental version of Gemini 2.5 Pro to all users of the free version of Gemini.
Gemini 2.5 Pro is currently still experimental, but supports a number of features including apps/extensions, file uploads, and Canvas. At launch, the algorithm was only available to paid Gemini Advanced subscribers. However, over the weekend, Google announced plans to make the algorithm available to all Gemini users. You can interact with Gemini 2.5 Pro now at gemini.google.com, and the algorithm will soon be available in the Gemini apps for Android and iOS. Google has stated its desire to get its smartest AI model into the hands of more people as soon as possible.
It is not yet known whether the stable version 2.5 Pro will be free for everyone or if it is only a test access. Previously, it was believed that 2.0 Flash Thinking and 2.0 Flash will remain free.
Google is gradually opening up more features to everyone, in particular Deep Research, Gems and document analysis.
