Google Launches Pixel Smartphones In India
Google plans to begin assembling its Pixel smartphone lineup in India. This was stated by Google Senior Vice President of Devices and Services Rick Osterloh
Google plans to invest more than $10 billion in production and development of services in India over the next few years.
As many tech firms, including Apple, seek to reduce their dependence on China to make their devices under a strategy analysts call “China+1”, India is aggressively offering financial incentives to attract global players to set up manufacturing facilities there.
Goldman Sachs estimates that with government stimulus, more than 670 companies could generate $455 billion in additional revenue and potentially create 6.3 million jobs in India over 5-6 years.
“India is a priority market for Pixel smartphones, and we are committed to delivering the best hardware and software solutions to Indian customers,” said Google Senior Vice President Rick Osterloh.
