Google Introduced A Powerful Neural Network “AlphaFold 3” For Predicting The Structure Of Proteins
Google’s DeepMind unit has unveiled a new version of its AlphaFold artificial intelligence model that predicts the shape and behavior of proteins. AlphaFold 3 is not only more accurate – the system now predicts the interaction of proteins with other biological molecules; In addition, a limited version of it is now available for free as a web application.
“Biology is a dynamic system, and we need to understand how its attributes arise from the interactions of different molecules in cells,” said Demis Hassabis, CEO and co-founder of DeepMind.
DeepMind developed AlphaFold 3 in collaboration with its former drug discovery division Isomorphic Labs. The first version of AlphaFold appeared in 2018.
A new AI model makes the most sophisticated predictions yet about how miniature biological structures look and interact.
This should help in the study of diseases and the search for treatments for cancer and other diseases, writes the Financial Times.
