First Look to Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
Since the announcement at the last The Game Awards in December 2022, we’ve only had a few small announcements of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Mechanical action thriller FromSoftware may be a somewhat unknown series to Western audiences, but Fires of Rubicon will open its universe to all players simultaneously on August 25th. It will also be sort of a “reboot” of the saga, further fueled by the community’s trust in FromSoft in recent years with its ARPGs such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring.
In the action game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, players will have to build and manage their own mech to complete various missions. Take on tough challenges and overpower your enemies with dynamic moves and ranged and melee attacks. Players will be able to enjoy action that can only be truly realized with the help of mechs.
A mysterious new substance has been discovered on the distant planet Rubicon 3. It was expected that this substance, as a source of energy, would significantly improve the technological capabilities of mankind. Instead, the substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming the Burning Star system.
Nearly half a century later, the same substance resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet infected and blocked by the catastrophe.
Extraterrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight for control of the substance. The player infiltrates the Rubicon as an independent mercenary and becomes embroiled in a fight for the substance with corporations and other factions.
