Epic Games Store Coming To iOS In 2024

Epic Games has announced that the battle royale game Fortnite will once again be available on iOS devices. True, so far this only applies to Europe, where the Digital Markets Act (DMA) was adopted, obliging Apple to allow the installation of third-party application stores on its devices.

Epic can’t reveal much about its plans just yet.  However, it is now known that the company’s store for iOS devices will be launched “later this year”, and through it users will be able to access Fortnite. The store will be available in countries covered by the Digital Markets Act.

“Stay tuned for more details as we figure out the timing of regulation,” Epic said in a post on social media X. “We will continue to prove to the courts and regulators that Apple is breaking the law,” the company said in another post.

The ability to install third-party stores will be available in iOS 17.4, the full release of which will take place in March. In the meantime, Apple has released a beta version.
