Elon Musk Names New CEO Of Twitter

Twitter owner Elon Musk has confirmed rumors that Linda Yaccarino has joined Twitter as the new CEO. This announcement came the day after Musk’s announcement that he was stepping down as CEO and had already found a successor. Elon Musk said that the new leader will start work in about six weeks, and he himself will not stop devoting time to the social network.

Musk himself will take on the roles of executive chairman and technical director. The entrepreneur did not name the reason for leaving and the name of the new head of the social network. He described running the company as “far from a party” but “an extremely painful process.”

Linda Iaccarino, prior to joining Twitter, was Director of Global Advertising at NBCUniversal, a major US media company formed following the merger of NBC with Universal Studios. Linda has been with NBCUniversal since 2011 and has gradually risen to the top of the company’s global advertising business. She continued to maintain close relationships with Twitter’s CMOs and advertising executives at a time when many advertisers fled after Musk’s takeover of Twitter last year.
