Electric Sports Car Rimac Nevera Sets A World Speed Record In Reverse – 275.74 km/h
The Croatian company Rimac Automobili announced another world record set by its only production model – the Nevera hypercar. The 1,914-horsepower electric vehicle with four independently controlled electric motors was able to reach a speed of 275.74 km/h while moving in reverse. The achievement was included in the Guinness Book of Records.
The record was set on the ATP track in Papenburg, Germany, where this spring the Rimac Nevera electric car set 23 world records in one day. This time, a representative of the Guinness Book of Records was invited to the event, who recorded the achievement.
Rimac driver Goran Drndak drove the car while looking in the rearview mirror. This is a separate skill, not to mention the speed to which he accelerated Nevera. The car under his control when moving in reverse showed the same dynamics as when moving forward: 1914 hp. with a torque of 3600 Nm.
This year, the Rimac Nevera also became the fastest production electric car on the Nurburgring, lapping the circuit 20 seconds faster than the Tesla Model S Plaid liftback. In addition, “Nevera” set a class record on the track in the British Goodwood.
