Capcom has released its financial report for the first quarter of its current fiscal year, which ended on June 30.
In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, Capcom’s net sales reached 45.5 billion yen ($305 million), up 54% from a year ago (29.4 billion yen), while operating profit increased 91% to 24.5 billion yen ($164 million). Capcom sold over 14.1 million of its games during the quarter, up nearly 50% (48.5%) from the same period in 2024. Digital accounted for 95.2%, while retail accounted for the remaining 4.8%.
Sales of Capcom’s biggest hit of early 2025, the action game Monster Hunter Wilds, have dropped noticeably. Only 477,000 people bought the game from April to June, while the result for the first month was 10 million copies. The most successful game of the quarter for Capcom was the six-year-old slasher Devil May Cry 5 — 1.7 million copies (10.5 million in total). Capcom noted that the project’s sales were boosted by the April animated series Devil May Cry from Netflix.

The successful sales support Capcom’s confidence in a steady increase in revenue for the thirteenth year in a row. Whether the company’s forecasts will come true – we will find out in the spring of 2026.
