“Cocoon” Named One Of The Best Summer Game Fest Game

The major June gaming events have come to an end, which consisted not only of shows for players and the press, but also of closed screenings of games for journalists. Individual publications had the opportunity to visit the so-called Play Days, where they gave a try to many major new items – including DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Mortal Kombat 1 and a number of other games. Among these games, Cocoon was also given a try.

Cocoon was introduced to Game Pass last year at the Xbox summer presentation, and it should be released in 2023. The journalists who tried Cocoon at Play Days were delighted with the project.

The project combines such genres and elements as logical and adventure. Additionally, players highlight such features of the game as adventure, puzzle, exploration and puzzle platformer. The game is designed for a single passage, multiplayer modes are not provided.

Cocoon is a sci-fi puzzle game where you travel between worlds as an insectoid creature, solving puzzles and interacting with the environment to get ahead. If you’ve played Limbo and Inside, you’ll be familiar with the style, but this game completely changes it, offering a top-down perspective and a rather unique mechanic: you jump in and out of worlds enclosed in a sphere. You can then move these orbs around other worlds, moving them around to solve puzzles and potentially unlock new paths.

These spheres can open paths, allow you to solve puzzles, power devices, and help you infiltrate other worlds. For example, you can avoid a dangerous barrier by jumping out of the world, waiting for it to pass by, and then jumping back in. There are also boss fights in the game!

Many journalists in their previews agree that Cocoon is one of the best games shown during Play Days at Summer Game Fest 2023.
