Brilliant Labs has unveiled a successor to its open-source, $349 Frame smart glasses. The new $299 Halo smart glasses are priced closer to Meta’s entry-level Ray-Ban models and feature improved AI capabilities.

Halo has a 0.2-inch color microOLED screen with a retro design that projects information into the peripheral field of vision, and bone conductors for privacy. Battery life reaches 14 hours thanks to an energy-efficient chip with NPU. The glasses weigh 40 grams, which ensures comfort during long-term wear.

The company’s proprietary Narrative AI system creates a personal database based on camera and microphone recordings, helping to recognize interlocutors’ names and restore the context of previous conversations. The experimental Vibe Mode allows you to create custom applications through voice commands — for example, maps with individual settings.

Halo, in a sleek matte black case, is now available for limited pre-order on the Brilliant Labs website for $299. Shipments are expected in late November 2025. Prescription lenses are also available.
