Asus Unveils MacBook Air Competitor — Zenbook A14

The Asus Zenbook A14 will go on sale in the U.S. on January 13 for $1,099.99. Then, in late March, the Asus Zenbook A14 with a Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-42-100) processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD will go on sale for $899.99.

Asus unveiled the lightweight and powerful Asus Zenbook A14 laptop at CES 2025, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X chip and aimed at competing with the MacBook Air.

The A14 laptop is made of magnesium alloy and covered with Asus Ceraluminum ceramic coating. The Zenbook A14 with an eight-core Snapdragon X processor will cost $1,100 in space gray when it hits the market in mid-January. The laptop has 32 GB of RAM, and the SSD storage capacity is 1 TB. The OLED display has a diagonal of 14 inches, its resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels at a frequency of 60 Hz and a peak brightness of 600 nits.

The new Asus laptop has a 70Wh battery, while the MacBook Air has a 52.6Wh battery. The Windows laptop also has more ports: two USB 4 Type-C for charging/data transfer, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, a 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack, and a full-size HDMI 2.1 port.
