Apple Watch Smartwatches Will Be Equipped with Cameras for Interacting with AI

IBloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple is looking to add cameras to the Apple Watch as part of its AI wearables program. This will help the gadget “analyze its environment.”

The advancement of AI algorithms will go hand in hand with Apple’s existing Visual Intelligence technology, which the company wants to implement in its AirPods headphones in the future. As a reminder, this feature allows for a quick search for data on objects captured by the camera lens. Currently, it relies heavily on neural networks developed by OpenAI and Google. According to Gurman, Apple intends to reduce Visual Intelligence’s dependence on third-party neural networks in the future.

In the standard Series watches, the camera will be added to the screen itself – like the front camera in the iPhone, but in the Ultra it will be located on the side panel. But it may take a long time before these devices are released, notes Gurman.
