Apple Introduces Games App
At WWDC 2025 on June 9, Apple unveiled a new app called Apple Games. It will serve as a central hub for games, bringing together titles from the App Store and Apple Arcade in one place. It will also feature Game Center features, including social features and achievement tracking.
Apple notes that the new app is aimed at the more than half a billion players in the company’s ecosystem and is designed to increase engagement and improve interaction with games across all devices.
Apple Games also includes a Play Together section, which features a selection of multiplayer and competitive games. On iPad and Mac, there’s a Game Center Overlay that lets you see your friends’ activity, notifications, and settings while you’re playing — without having to go to the main menu.
Apple also announced two notable gaming projects for macOS, including the everyday life simulator inZOI and the large-scale role-playing game with action elements Crimson Desert.
