Amazon Has Officially Greenlit A Blade Runner Sequel 

Amazon has partnered with Ridley Scott to green-light Blade Runner 2099, a television series set fifty years after the events of the film starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

Plot details on the show are being kept under wraps for now, but it is known that Silka Louise will be the showrunner and Ridley Scott will be the executive producer.

Amazon Studios global television head Vernon Sanders is betting big on the show: “The original Blade Runner by Ridley Scott is considered one of the greatest and most influential sci-fi films of all time, and we’re excited to bring Blade Runner 2099 to our global Prime Video customers. Hopefully Blade Runner 2099 will keep the spirit of the original.”
