Apple to Release AirTag 2 Next Year

Four years after the original AirTag, Apple is working on an updated version of the popular tracker. The new model, which has received the internal code name B589, promises to be more powerful and secure.

The product should hit the market in the foreseeable future. As for improvements, we can expect the tracker to have a longer range, better location accuracy thanks to an improved ultra-wideband chip, and improved privacy.

The privacy improvements will likely mean that the AirTag 2 will be harder to use to spy on others. There have been a number of reports online of people using the AirTag for spying, and in some cases the device has been modified to turn off the speaker entirely.

With the new AirTag, Apple is strengthening its position in the smart accessory market, offering not only functionality improvements but also security solutions. This will make the device suitable for those who care about the safety of their belongings and personal security.
