Finalmouse has announced the Starlight X computer mouse. This is the company’s first device in 11 years with a completely new design.

As TechPowerUp notes, the Starlight X is Finalmouse’s first all-new gaming mouse with a completely new shape in 11 years. Designed specifically for first-person shooters and intended for right-handed users, the company claims its symmetrical shape with a more pronounced ridge at the rear provides a better grip.

The key feature of the Starlight X is its TMR Dual-State sensors, which support analog features such as rapid actuation, adjustable actuation point, and a claimed latency reduction of up to 35ms compared to similar gaming mice. The TMR Dual-State system combines the TMR sensor with a mechanical click feedback mechanism. According to Finalmouse, the new switching mechanism adds only 0.24g to the mouse’s weight, while Logitech’s HITS analog click feedback system in the new G Pro X2 Superstrike adds complexity to the design and is the reason the Superstrike weighs 61g. A drawback of this hybrid TMR Dual-State technology is that the haptic feedback is not adjustable.

The Starlight X uses a custom Finalmouse F1 sensor, developed in collaboration with PixArt, and a Nordic nRF54LM20 microcontroller. The manufacturer deliberately avoids providing the mouse’s overall technical specifications, instead listing only an end-to-end latency of 223 μs (0.223 ms). TechPowerUp notes that the sensor is likely based on the new PAW 3955 sensor, previously featured in the Akko Dash series of mice.

The mouse body is made of carbon composite and measures 125 x 59 x 40 mm. Starlight X supports wireless connectivity, USB-C charging, and configuration via the Xpanel web platform on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The price of the new product is $179.
