World’s First Mass-Produced Laptop with a Rollable Screen is Unveiled – Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable
Lenovo will release the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 laptop this week, which features an upward-expanding screen. The new product was shown at CES 2025 earlier this year. Now its price and release date have been announced.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable is almost no different from a regular laptop when folded, but its screen can unfold, extending in height. As a result, the 14-inch diagonal increases to 16.7 inches, but here you need to understand that the aspect ratio becomes completely different. To be more precise, it turns out as if two 16:9 screens were placed one above the other.

It is known that the new product is based on the Core Ultra 7 CPU, has up to 32 GB of RAM and an SSD of up to 1 TB. It also has Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4.
It took two years to develop the world’s first rollable computer screen, during which engineers delved into thermal mechanics and power management, not to mention the challenge of cramming the two tiny motors that roll the screen into a 19.9mm-thick laptop chassis.

Lenovo claims the laptop’s lid hinge is rated for 30,000 open and close cycles, and the display is rated for 20,000 deployments. The starting price is $3,500.
