You Can Now Chat with the ChatGPT Chatbot on the Phone
The company is expanding access to its chatbot: ChatGPT can now be interacted with via regular phone lines and WhatsApp messenger.
When calling the specified number, the user hears the following: “Hello again, this is ChatGPT, an AI assistant. Our conversation may be checked for security. How can I help you?” The caller can then ask the bot any questions, similar to how it happens when interacting with it in a text chat. During the demonstration of the new service, OpenAI employees showed several examples of interaction with ChatGPT in a voice chat. It is noteworthy that you do not need to use a smartphone to communicate with the AI bot, since calls to the toll-free number are also available from landlines.
The company previously opened access to the ChatGPT Search tool, which allows users to get answers to their questions using real-time data from the Internet. Video support was also added in Advanced Voice Mode. In addition, iPhone and iPad users can communicate with ChatGPT directly through Siri. The ChatGPT app is available in the App Store for devices with iOS 16.4 and later.
