Xiaomi Unveils Open Source MiMo 7B Language Model

The importance of software related to so-called artificial intelligence is high for most companies these days, so the Chinese Xiaomi decided to keep up with the competition by introducing its own open-source reasoning AI model MiMo.

MiMo 7B demonstrates high results in complex tests such as AIME 24-25 for mathematical reasoning and LiveCodeBench v5 for programming. The approach to training the model is based on human logic, which ensures the quality of reasoning.

The model is capable of autonomous understanding, reasoning, and content generation. It can be used to create virtual assistants, automatically generate texts, solve technical problems, develop software, perform scientific research, and translate. Unlike other language models, MiMo 7B focuses on logical and mathematical problems.

Xiaomi hasn’t stopped at debuting the company’s first language model, announcing this week that it has ambitions to create what it calls artificial intelligence (AGI), which is comparable in capabilities to humans.

In a post on WeChat, Xiaomi said, “Although 2025 may seem like a late stage to realize the dream of large models, we believe that we will pursue AGI in the long term.”
