Windows 11 25H2 Becomes Available to Insiders

A few weeks ago, it became known about Microsoft’s plans to release the latest version of Windows 11 25H2 before the end of this year, and now the software giant has announced the availability of a preliminary version of the new OS in its official blog.

The company does not promise a large number of new features in the field of artificial intelligence or changes to the Windows 11 interface this time, noting that the 25H2 package contains the same features and improvements as the previous major update 24H2, which was improved throughout the year. However, some aspects are mentioned that should be noted by administrators: the legacy PowerShell 2.0 command line shell and the WMIC (Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line) utility have been removed. Administrators will also now be able to remove some pre-installed apps from the Microsoft Store using Group Policy tools and MDM CSP on computers in organizations and educational institutions.

For commercial customers in the Windows Insider Program for Business, the Windows 11 25H2 preview version is available on both Windows Update for Business (WufB) and Windows Server Update Service (WSUS). Additionally, the Windows 11 25H2 update will be available on the Azure Market in the coming hours, and ISO images will be available on the Windows Insider Preview download page next week.
