TweetDeck Is Gonna Be Paid

Twitter said that from the beginning of August, only verified users will be able to use TweetDeck.

The web toolbar offers a number of features for advanced Twitter users, including the ability to organize and manage feeds in multiple columns.

TweetDeck has always been free, but as new Twitter owner Elon Musk and newly appointed CEO Linda Iaccarino look for ways to generate much-needed revenue, the company has decided to put the popular tool behind a paywall.

Earlier it was reported that Twitter, which has been owned by businessman Elon Musk since October 2022, has been delaying payments to Oracle IT Corporation for several months. Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison helped Musk finance the purchase of the social network and is one of the billionaire’s close friends, Business Insider reports.

The changes come just days after Elon Musk announced that the company is limiting the reading of verified accounts to 10,000 messages per day, unverified accounts to 1,000 per day, and new unverified accounts to 500 per day. Musk said the action was necessary to keep tech companies from collecting Twitter data to train their AI tools.
