TikTok Resums Its Work in the United States
US President-elect Donald Trump promised to delay the blocking of Chinese platform TikTok after taking office on January 20 and advocated for the United States to acquire 50% of the company’s ownership.
Reporters say TikTok appears to be back online in the United States, hours after President-elect Donald Trump promised to sign an executive order on January 20 to restore the app.
About 12 hours after the shutdown, American users began accessing TikTok on a web browser and app, though the page still displayed a warning about the outage.
Trump’s order is expected to delay the ban to give TikTok’s parent company ByteDance more time to find an American owner.
