The Most Powerful Flare For 7 years Occurred On The Sun
The largest flare occurred on the Sun. The last time flares of such intensity on the closest star to us were recorded back in 2017. According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research and Solar-Terrestrial Physics, the solar explosion lasted about 25 minutes.
During the observation of the flare on January 1, a significant ejection of coronal mass – matter (plasma) from the outer atmosphere of the star – was noticed. The plasma cloud headed towards the Earth. Observations showed that in the end only the magnetic field along the edge of the planet was affected.
The frequency and intensity of solar flares began to increase with the beginning of the new 25th cycle of the star’s 11-year activity. Peak activity is forecast for the second half of 2024, although previous observations had suggested it would be expected in the first half of 2025. There is a high probability that this year the Sun will behave in an unusual way and the 25th cycle will differ from previous ones with significantly increased activity.
If you are weather dependent, doctors advise avoiding heavy physical work, maintaining a sleep schedule and avoiding stress. People with chronic diseases should take the pills prescribed by their doctor and keep them with them.
