Sony To Make Film Adaptation Of Days Gone
Inspired by the success of the film version of Uncharted (the adventure film Uncharted: Off the Maps grossed almost $402 million worldwide), Sony announced the film adaptation of another video game – a zombie action with survival horror elements Days Gone. Developed by developer Bend Studio and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment, the game was released on PlayStation 4 in April 2019 and was released on PC in May 2021.
As it became known to media sources, the film division of the Japanese corporation – Sony PlayStation Productions – began developing a sub-length film based on the game Days Gone. Actor Sam Heughan, well-known from the series Purely English Murders and Outlander, is being considered as the leading actor.
It is also reported that Sheldon Turner will adapt the script for the film. The blockbuster would prove to be “a love ballad for motorcycle movies”. At the moment, the release date is not disclosed.
Days Gone is an action-adventure game developed by Bend Studio and released exclusively for PlayStation in April 2019. In May 2021, the title became available to PC gamers. This is not the first game that Sony has filmed. In February 2022, the film Uncharted: Off the Maps, based on the Uncharted video game series, was released.
