Samsung Created Record-Breaking Fast LPDDR5X Chips
Samsung has announced the upcoming release of new LPDDR5X RAM chips for mobile devices with record data transfer speeds. Representatives of the company told how much faster it is than current solutions, and announced the timing of its appearance as part of new smartphones and laptops.
Samsung’s 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM is manufactured using the 12nm process. The company notes that it was able to develop the most compact LPDDR5X chips on the market.
Samsung’s new memory not only delivers 25% higher performance and 30% higher density than the previous generation of LPDDR5X memory, but also increases the capacity of a single set of mobile DRAM to 32 GB, “making it the optimal solution for devices of the era era of artificial intelligence, which require high-performance, higher-capacity and energy-efficient RAM.”
Licensing of the chips is planned for the second half of 2024, and their appearance on the market is expected at the end of this year.
