Review: Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro
As part of its premiere in Berlin in mid-May, Huawei unveiled a number of new wearables. There was the premium Watch 5 offering, as well as the FreeBuds 6 headphones. However, the company has also updated the Fit line with the new Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro, and now we’ll take a closer look at the Pro addition.
As its name suggests, the model offers more than the standard version, and that translates into the use of premium materials and more capabilities. The model works seamlessly with both Android smartphones and iPhones. For this, you need the Huawei Health app, and it is easily downloaded via a Qr code that is placed on the box.
Premium and rugged design
The model has a sleek 3D wing-like design with a square screen and a slim body (9.3 mm). In addition, it is based on a super-strong aluminum construction (550 MPa) that is durable, lightweight and wear-resistant. The titanium alloy frame is strong and corrosion resistant. The screen is protected by a sapphire crystal coating which also offers high durability.
To the right of the design is a sophisticated multi-function crown and a low-profile, elliptical, functional button. The bottom of the case houses the sensors as well as the charging system. There are also microphone and speaker holes.

The watch is also water resistant and can withstand immersion to a depth of 40 metres, and is certified to EN 13319. It also has a dust resistance rating of IP6X. Along with the model comes a magnetic wireless charger.
The Watch Fit 4 Pro comes in several color options with a green nylon strap, a blue fluoroelastomer strap, and a black fluoroelastomer strap. In this case, we tried the one with a nylon strap with a nice touch effect.
The watch comes with a large, 1.82-inch AMOLED display offering an expansive area. Other key parameters include a 60 hertz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which means the picture will be crisp even in direct bright light.

The colours reproduced are saturated and the contrast level is good. It is possible to adjust the brightness manually or this can be done automatically, the levels are excellent and the picture is crisp in all conditions.
A large range of dials are available and are easily swapped via the smartphone app, with some available directly on the smartphone, including model exclusives. There are emotional-themed solutions with a pet or artwork such as Arctic Rays and Dusk Silhouette, as well as a DIY Gallery dial.
It relies on our already well-known HarmonyOS software platform, which is optimized for this type of screen and displays more information. Working with the system interface is easy and fast, and cards with combined indicators have been added. New features include a built-in voice notepad, a quick message reply option, remote shooting with the smartphone camera, and the ability to make calls through the connected phone.

With the watch, you can control your phone’s music playback, and discover it if it has an active connection. Other available features include an alarm, timer, stopwatch, flashlight, time display and more. The model of course displays the notifications you receive on your phone.
Workouts, health indicators and battery
The Watch Fit 4 Pro has a pretty wide range of health metrics reporting capabilities. This is made possible by the TruSense system. The big addition is the electrode in the help button that allows for ECG draws and arterial stiffness readings. This also provides a more accurate pulse reading.
Also added is the HRV (heart rate variability) indicator, which can reflect changes in heart rate, measure the physical and psychological stress endured by the body, and help screen for disease risks.

Among the options available are measurements of heart rate, skin temperature, blood oxygen levels, sleep quality, stress levels, and a calendar for a woman’s menstrual cycle. You also have added breathing exercises to reduce stress. There is also a digital wellbeing system with three levels that can also be visualized on the special dial.
The Watch Fit 4 Pro can track over 100 workout types, and outdoors relies on the Sunflower dual-band positioning system, which is extremely accurate (+56% vs Fit 3). Designed to adapt to your movements in real time, the system ensures the watch maintains a strong and consistent signal by adapting to the dynamic environment around you. Environmental data is also more accurate thanks to the improved barometer.

The watch also displays maps and allows the display of routes travelled with the option to return. New modes such as mountaineering, hiking and skiing with even more accurate measurements are also possible thanks to the improved barometer.
The watch is also waterproof and can withstand immersion to a depth of 40 metres, and is certified to EN 13319. With it, you can track your dive with depth checking, pre-training and customizing the details displayed during the dive. You can also track a variety of other water sports with it, including boating, sailing, power boating and more.
One significant new feature here is the addition of thousands of golf courses with 3D views and detailed field information. There’s also the ability to measure distance on the map, adjust your swing and in-depth post-game analysis.

The Stay Fit app allows you to track your calorie expenditure and intake, the records are facilitated and you can easily calculate calorie status – deficit, intake/expenditure.
The Watch Fit 4 Pro is managed through the Huawei Health app, and from there you can set the various desired settings on the watch and monitor sensor data. Outdoor running records are also displayed in the app, and these are visualised on a map with lots of data.
Endurance on a single charge is up to 10 days with standard use and up to 7 days with standard use and 4 days with Always On Display. Charging is done via the included magnetic charging cradle and according to the company takes about 60 minutes.
Conclusion
The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro impresses with a sleek and durable design using high-quality materials. There is also a wide range of health and sports features, as well as excellent compatibility with Android and iOS.
Built-in sensors, extensive workout and navigation options, and a rugged case with water resistance to 40 meters make it a serious competitor in the fitness model class. Added ECG functions and accurate GPS tracking enhance the feeling that you’re not just wearing an accessory, but a complete digital assistant.
