Phil Spencer: “It’s Too Early to Talk About the Exclusivity of The Elder Scrolls 6”

Microsoft and Bethesda have not yet resolved the issue with platforms for The Elder Scrolls VI, since at the moment the game does not exist and it will not be released very soon.

In court over the purchase of Activision Blizzard, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer explained that now it’s hard for him to imagine what the market will be like at the time of the release of Bethesda’s next RPG and what systems will be represented on it.  As such, he is unable to confirm The Elder Scrolls VI’s Xbox exclusivity at this time.

Apparently, the game will not be released on the current console generation. The fact is that Bethesda is just finishing Starfield, which has been continuously engaged since the release of Fallout 4 in 2015. Active development of The Elder Scrolls VI has not even begun yet and it is not known when it will begin, given the need to support Starfield with additional content.

In the past, Phil Spencer hinted at the exclusivity of The Elder Scrolls VI for the Xbox – many media even met his words for confirming the exclusivity – but in court he said that he did not remember such statements. “I’m not sure I talked about it. I can’t remember such public statements from myself.
