OpenAI announced the global expansion of its cheaper paid ChatGPT Go subscription, now available worldwide. This plan was previously tested in India in August and has since been rolled out to 170 additional countries. The company stated that in markets where Go was already available, it has seen strong usage for tasks such as writing, learning, image creation, and other applications.
ChatGPT Go offers expanded access to the GPT-5.2 Instant model, increasing message, file upload, and image generation limits tenfold compared to the free version. Users also receive longer-term conversation storage. The advanced GPT-5.2 Thinking model remains available only in Plus and Pro subscriptions.
Simultaneously, OpenAI announced the start of advertising testing in the free version of ChatGPT and the Go plan. The experiment will launch in the coming weeks in the US and will only affect authorized adult users. Plus, Pro, and enterprise subscriptions will remain ad-free.
It is also reported that OpenAI will soon begin showing ads to Go users in the US, while Plus and higher-priced subscriptions will remain ad-free.
