Netflix Abnegates Its Basic Ad-Free Plan

Media have reported that Netflix has ditched its basic ad-free fare in the US and UK. It cost ten dollars and allowed you to watch content in 720p quality on one device.

Now new users will be forced to agree to advertising or pay for a more expensive subscription. Standard with Ads plan costs $6.99 (£4.99)

The cheapest ad-free option remains the $15.49 “Standard” plan, which allows two simultaneous streams. The Premium plan costs $19.99 (£15.99), allows four streams and includes 4K Ultra HD and HDR.

The most economical viewers should choose between $6.99 with ads and $15.49 per month.

Not the most pleasant innovation was predictable: for new members, the basic rate was previously absent on the first page, and it was possible to subscribe to it only after clicking the “View all plans” button.  In addition, this tariff did not allow the addition of new members.
