Last year’s version of Apple’s iPad Pro tablet moved the FaceTime camera module to the longer side of the screen to make it easier to use the device for video calls in landscape

orientation. The decision was made to improve the user experience during video conferences when the tablet is held horizontally. However, this placement created some inconvenience when using the device in portrait orientation. This year, Apple plans to introduce an updated iPad Pro with two front-facing cameras on the side and top of the display.

Mark Gurman, a prominent Bloomberg journalist, reported in his Power On newsletter that the addition of a second front-facing camera to the iPad Pro M5 is aimed at solving this problem. Both cameras will be optimized for portrait photography, providing high-quality images no matter how the user holds the device.

The new iPad Pro will be the first Apple device to feature the Apple M5 chip. Apart from the new processor and two front-facing cameras, no other changes are expected to the tablet.

The first versions of Mac computers with the M5 chip are expected to be released in the first half of 2026.
