The release of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI has been delayed again – the game is now scheduled for November 19, 2026, according to a statement from Rockstar Games.

Rockstar announced on its official website that the exact release date for GTA VI announced in early May was not final. The game will not be released on May 26, 2026, despite Take-Two’s belief.

As it turns out, GTA VI is now scheduled to be released almost six months later, on November 19, about a year after the original release date of fall 2025.

Rockstar cited the desire to release the game with the level of polish “you expect and deserve” as the reason for the delay. The studio also apologized for once again prolonging the wait for GTA VI.

We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait has been a bit longer, we can’t wait for players to experience Leonid’s vast state and return to modern-day Vice City,” Rockstar emphasized.

The press release about the game’s release being pushed back to November came amid a Bloomberg report that more than 30 employees were fired for discussing the development of GTA VI in a group chat that included non-company employees.
