CD Projekt Red Confirms Another Major Update for Cyberpunk 2077

Officially, CD Projekt Red ended support for Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2024. Then the developers released a major update 2.2. In fact, the studio followed in the footsteps of the creators of Terraria, who have been releasing one final update after another for five years. Thus, in January 2025, patch 2.21 was released for Cyberpunk 2077. And now the studio is working on patch 2.3.

The update will premiere on June 26. What exactly will be included in version 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 is not specified at this stage – they promise to share details closer to the release on one of the RedStreams broadcasts.

It’s worth noting that Cyberpunk 2077 hasn’t had a dedicated support team since last spring. The major patch 2.2 that came out in December, for example, was created in collaboration with Virtuos.

According to one of the employees’ resumes, Virtuos is preparing new side quests for “future DLC” for Cyberpunk 2077. It’s quite possible that the wording meant content updates, not paid add-ons.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED itself is already fully operational on two fronts: the Polish team is fully focused on The Witcher, while the still expanding American division is developing Cyberpunk.
